A symbol of Parisian chic, the “Marquise” was a diamond cut to enhance its brilliance and favored epochs such as the Roaring Twenties and the Art Deco period.
The marquise cut origin dates back to the 18th century when King Louis XV of France (1710-1774) commissioned a jeweler to design a cut shape that resembled the lips of his mistress, Jean Antoinette Poisson the Marchioness Madame de Pompadour. Over time, the marquise cut developed into the distinctive shape known today.
The double-sided bangles feature a glossy enamel inlay carved by hand and serve as a set of 4 marquise-shaped diamonds on each side. Les Marchioness Bangle in Hazel
